Real Facts! The pizzaiolo Viramundo

For those who do not remember, Viramundo was the character of the book The Great Gatsby, by Fernando Sabino. Geraldo Viramundo was an adventurer, wanderer, crazy, dispossessed, bum, idealistic moved by a space undefined. Already interpreted it in a presentation in high school, but this is not the subject of the post :)

Some time ago, Homer said to us the story of Cyrus. Today I will tell the story of Rocco, not the actor porno movie, but who met in Denmark.

Rocco is an Italian who decided to live his life differently. Since 16, he works as a pizza maker. Learned in Germany, in his first pilgrimage.

After learning his craft, Rocco decided to move again, this time to Romania. Since the market was not so good, he moved to France. Therein begins its nomadic life.

At only 24 years, Rocco has lived in over 15 countries, including Thailand, Australia, Argentina and even Japan

Fluent in English and Spanish, he told me he loves doing it. Your luggage is just a backpack. He says he does not usually store things, and carries with it only the basics. He said he went to Australia when it was cold in Europe, and even when I was in Argentina.

I found it in Denmark and guess what: he had just "move" over there, was looking for employment. Yes, he moves pro country without a job right. He does not have much risk:

"The owners of Italian restaurants are always Italian. And as work assembling pizza, I need not speak the language of the country. Always got a job like that.

And he said he has a great desire to live in Mexico and Brazil. Temporarily, of course.

Crazy? Some think so. If you talk to him, will see how open is the head of it, how much he knows about the world without having even finished high school. Moreover, this was the choice of his life.

We travel with all rational thought, as I spend, where I live, study, what places should I look for a job, etc. Pro Rocco that never existed, maybe he did not know planning a trip.

While we plan all us to come to Ireland, throw it all away in Brazil: employment, family, friends. Is not that crazy?

Returning to Viramundo, the whole point of the book The Great Gatsby, is that Sabino makes us question the madness. What is the line between madness and reason? If there is a division, of course.

As some here know I'm going to Ireland next year, and I'm much more motivated for this trip not only because I'm on the side of my love, but also because I read stories like this. And now I'm reading a book that moves me every chapter, the book's title is: In Search of the Dream: Twenty Years of Adventures Family Schürmann. Well who has over 20 years should know who this family. And also advise you to watch the movie the world in two turns is animal and will certainly motivate you more and more to leave Brazil.

Whoever wants to buy the book here tá a link to the submarine.

Review: "Heloisa Schurmann, teacher and writer, found in the sea a new lifestyle. For your dreams come true, she shared her recipe with family, dosing love, patience, courage, resignation, planning and organization. In the company of Vilfredo, her husband and children, Pierre, David Wilhelm and Kat, sailed twice around the world aboard the sailing Aysso. In 2004, the Schürmann sailed along the Brazilian coast to Fortaleza. In search of the dream takes you, reader, to travel along with the family. "
